The Marriott Theatre to Premiere HERO, Starring Erich Bergen, Beginning 6/20

The Marriott Theatre (10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire) presents HERO, a new musical written by Aaron Thielen with music and lyrics by Michael Mahler, previewing June 20, opening June 27 at 8 p.m. and running through August 19, 2012. Noreen Heron & Associates have announced the launch of a new aspect of Marriott TheatreÂ’s upcoming production of the contemporary new musical, HERO. An interactive website has been created, live today at www.heromusical.com (Designed by Charles Riffenburg of Grab Bag Comics), for audiences to gather more information and follow along with the production process. The Paramount Theater is presenting the nostalgic jukebox revue Route 66 for a nine-week run, four shows a week, in the intimate, 216-seat Copley Theater. Tickets are on sale now for Paramount's production of Roger Bean's Route 66, a jukebox comedy about a gang of rowdy Chicago service station attendants who take an imaginary Chicago to L.A. road trip singing tunes by Willie Nelson, Woody Guthrie, Roger Miller and The Beach Boys, just to name a few. CST and Benito Juarez Announce ¡SHAKESPEARE EN CORTO! Performance, 3/27

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today a special performance of Short Shakespeare! The Taming of the Shrew at Benito Juarez Community Academy Performing Arts Center in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood on Saturday, March 24 at 7 p.m. The 75-minute abridged production of Shakespeare's battle of the sexes—presented in English with projected Spanish translation and featuring a prologue by leading members of the Pilsen community—is part of CST's ongoing partnership with Benito Juarez Community Academy (BJCA).
