Paper Mill's Rising Star Awards Honor High School Performers On 6/16

Paper Mill Playhouse's (Mark S. Hoebee-Artistic Director, Mark W. Jones-Executive Director) Rising Star Awards are modeled after the Tony® Awards and Paper Mill's program serves the entire state of New Jersey with 100 entered productions from public, private, and parochial high schools. On Tuesday, June 16th at 7:30pm the nominees perform and the award recipients are presented with a crystal award from Rising Star Award partner Tiffany's & Co.

Directed by Gordon Greenberg and choreographed by Josh Rhodes, 1776 will run at the Millburn theatre from April 15 through May 17, 2009. 1776 was selected by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts as part of the American Masterpieces Series in New Jersey. American Masterpieces is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts. Press Opening is Sunday, April 19th at 7:30pm

The season opens in September with a musical that highlights and celebrates America's frontier, Little House on the Prairie. In November, Paper Mill produces the classic song and dance spectacular On the Town. The winter months bring Lost in Yonkers, a Neil Simon classic to brighten the stage and warm your heart. Spring is twisting and jiving with the 1950's rock ?n' roll extravaganza Smokey Joe's Caf?. The season closes with the internationally acclaimed classic Peter Pan.

Lynn Redgrave stars as 'Lady Bracknell' in Paper Mill's production of The Importance of Being Earnest. Oscar Wilde's masterpiece of modern comedy is directed by David Schweizer and celebrated Opening Night on Sunday, January 18th. BroadwayWorld's cameras were there to capture the starry celebration! Paper Mill's production of The Importance of Being Earnest runs through February 15, 2009. The Importance of Being Earnest is about maintaining fictitious identities to avoid unwelcome social obligations. Jack Worthing's brother, Earnest, provides Jack with the excuse to escape from his dull home in the country to frolic in town. The home of Algernon Moncreiff's friend Bunbury provides a convenient locale for taking adventures in the country. The problem? Earnest and Bunbury are imaginary, created by Jack and Algernon to add a dash of excitement to their lives. Their deceptions eventually cross paths, resulting in a series of hilarious crises that threaten to spoil their romantic pursuits.

Jones-Executive Director) is proud to announce a sparkling holiday production of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker featuring the renowned Paper Mill Orchestra. Paper Mill Playhouse and The New Jersey Ballet celebrate their 38th annual production, the only Nutcracker in the state of New Jersey with a live orchestra. Clara and her valiant Nutcracker Prince return to the stage along with the Sugar Plum Fairy, toy soldiers, villainous Mouse King and cast of over 90 performers. Stunning sets and an enormous Christmas tree light up the Paper Mill stage.
