As part of its ongoing commitment to providing a place for original stories and characters that defy expectations, AMC made a number of announcements on the day of its Upfront. Today's announcements revealed that the second half of the acclaimed drama BREAKING BAD's fifth and final season — eight episodes in total — will premiere on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 9 pm. (more...)

Sundance Channel's highly anticipated original series 'Rectify' will debut on April 22, 2013 at 9:00pm et/pt with two episodes. The six-episode hour-long series, created and written by Ray McKinnon (The Accountant, That Evening Sun, Mud) and executive produced by Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein (the team behind the critically-acclaimed AMC series, 'Breaking Bad'), marks the first wholly owned Sundance Channel scripted production. Theaters Nationwide to Host Sneak Peek of Sundance Channel's New Series RECTIFY, 4/16

To celebrate the launch of Sundance Channel's first wholly owned original scripted project, 'Rectify', the network has partnered with Art House Convergence and Sundance Cinemas to offer the public a sneak peek at more than a dozen theaters across the country. On the evening of Tuesday, April 16, the participating theaters will screen the first two episodes of the six-part series followed by a Skype Q & A with members of the cast. There will be no cost to attend the screening, however the Osborne Association will be accepting donations. 'Rectify' is set to premiere on Sundance Channel on Monday, April 22 at 9:00pm et/pt with a two hour debut. (more...)

DTS-HD Layered Audio utilizes advanced features of the DTS-HDcodec to create and efficiently store adaptive bit-rate audio streams from a single encode, allowing online media services to better accommodate the challenging network conditions of over-the-top (OTT) broadband video streaming and deliver a better consumer experience. The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today the motion picture and long-form television nominations for the 24th Annual Producers Guild Awards. The categories include: The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures; The Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures; and The David L.
