Austin Pendleton to Lead Off-Broadway's THE LAST WILL

Austin Pendleton is set to play William Shakespeare in Abingdon Theatre Company's Off-Broadway premiere of Robert Brustein's THE LAST WILL, which he will also direct, beginning Friday, April 5 in the June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Brustein's final installment of his trilogy examining the life of William Shakespeare, THE LAST WILL is set to open on April 17, with performances through May 5. OBIE Award-winner Austin Pendleton replaces actor Peter Cameron who has left the production. (more...)

Abingdon Theatre Company is pleased to announce that performances have resumed for its world premiere of MARCH MADNESS by Mike Vogel, with previews returning as of 7pm on Thursday, November 1, at the Abingdon Theatre Company's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Told through monologue, song, poetry, and multimedia, this autobiographical piece by performance poet/playwright Al Letson challenges perceptions about race and class, as he recounts his struggles to connect with the disadvantaged children of the Sanctuary in Jacksonville, Florida. Summer In Sanctuary will take you into the heart of a community and leave you with a better understanding of the world. Rob Urbinati, who helmed Foggy Bottom and The President and Her Mistress in our 2006/2007 season, is back to direct this funny, poignant, and ultimately inspiring piece of distinctly American theater.
