Florida Studio Theatre announces the opening of the first show in the Summer Mainstage Season Pump Boys and Dinettes, book, lyrics, and music by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel, and Jim Wann. The show will open in the Gompertz Theatre today, June 4 and run through June 29, 2014.

Pump Boys and Dinettes, the final production of the 2014 Encores! Off-Center series, will star Jordan Dean,Hunter Foster, Mamie Parris, Randy Redd, Katie Thompson and Lorenzo Wolff. Pump Boys, running July 16 - 19, will be directed by Lear deBessonet and choreographed by Danny Mefford. Jeanine Tesori is the Encores! Off-Center artistic director; Chris Fenwick is the music director.

Mark Cuddy, Producer of The Cape Playhouse, has announced the casting for his first slate of productions during the historic theater's 88th Season in Dennis, MA. Six shows - a mix of comedies, dramas & musicals - starring Broadway actors will be live on stage from June 9 - August 30, 2014.

Florida Studio Theatre presents an exciting new Summer Mainstage and Cabaret Season. The Mainstage kicks off with the foot-stomping musical Pump Boys and Dinettes, the humorous and inspirational drama Becoming Dr. Ruth, and the thought-provoking Taking Shakespeare. The Summer Cabaret Season will consist of At The Hop, by America's Premiere Doo-Wop group, The Alley Cats, Clearly Invisible: Magic Up Close with Carl Seiger, and Somewhere Over the Rose, The Songs and Stories of Judy Garland and Bette Midler.

A packed theatre of patrons at last night's opening performance of Camelot was treated to the announcement of Georgia Ensemble Theatre's (GET's) 2014-2015 Season lineup of plays which is filled with musical favorites, powerhouse drama, comedy and a world premiere. Artistic Director Robert J. Farley proudly stood before the crowd for the presentation of plays that are sure to thrill patrons new and old. North Fulton's only professional theatre company is the artistic home to more than 2500 subscribers, as well as dedicated individual ticket buyers who frequent the Roswell-based company throughout the year with its extensive mainstage, theatre for youth, education, and outreach programming. Farley says about the season unveiling, 'I am so very excited about the public announcement of Georgia Ensemble Theatre's 22nd season of professional theatre. These stories represent such great depth, and the talent of the writing that we'll be bringing to the stage beginning in September is astounding. Clearly, Atlanta theatre patrons are just as excited as I am as evidenced by the great feedback we are getting and the already brisk subscription sales.' Earlier this year, on March 18, Van Dean, Kenny Howard, and Michael J. Moritz, Jr. brought together a melange of Broadway's most impressive young talent for WHEN I GROW UP: BROADWAY'S NEXT GENERATION, a cabaret concert at 54 BELOW. Kenny Howard says that this group inspired him 'not only with their talents but also with a maturity that is far beyond their years.' Trustus Theatre concludes its 28th Season as it brings Collected Stories, directed by Milena Herring, to the Thigpen Main Stage.
