BlakTinX Begins New Season at BAAD, 10/5

BAAD! - The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance - begins its fall season with the BlakTinx Performance Series from October 5 through November 16, 2012. This annual festival celebrates art and performance in various disciplines by African Americans, Latinos, and other artists of color will include several evenings of Bronx dance companies alongside companies from around the world, plus theater, performance art and a sexy comic book workshop. Speckulation Entertainment will produce a brand new series of acoustic sessions with three of its roster of recording artists at the recently refurbished Pheasantry on the Kings Road in Chelsea during June. West End star and Avenue Q favourite Julie Atherton will kickstart proceedings on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June, followed by How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? finalist Helena Blackman on Sunday 12th June, and award-winning composer Michael Bruce on Sunday 19th June.
