In celebration of Asian Heritage month, the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee of Actors' Equity Association and ReImagined World Entertainment presented 'The Asian American Composers and Lyricists Project,' a free evening of original works created and sung by Asian American theatre artists. This one-night only concert event took place on Sunday, May 19 at 8PM at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center. BroadwayWorld has photos from the event below! The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Allegiance - A New American Musical, an epic story of family, love and patriotism set during the Japanese American internment of World War II. Directed by Stafford Arima, with music and lyrics by Jay Kuo and book by Marc Acito, Kuo and Lorenzo Thione, the production features choreography by Andrew Palermo and music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations by Lynne Shankel. The event will be held in the 30th Floor Media Room of BMI's New York office at 7 World Trade Center/250 Greenwich Street tonight, April 26, at 5:30PM and is open to members of the entertainment industry as well as Workshop members. Broadway Barkada, a group of New York-based Filipino actors, singers, and dancers who've been performing on various Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, will hold a fundraiser via a pre-valentine concert titled "So This Is Love: An Evening of Love Songs" at Trump Place (220 Riverside Boulevard) on Friday, February 10, 8 p.m. Proceeds will be used for the three-year-old organization's upcoming projects.
