Pittsburgh Musical Theater will present Dear Evan Hansen this spring. Dear Evan Hansen features a score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and a book by Steven Levenson.

The New Hazlett Theater is inviting audiences to the premiere of Agnus Teaches Acting. The production stars acclaimed Pittsburgh artist Treasure Treasure as the infamous Agnus Stephenson.

Is Jesus the hero of Jesus Christ Superstar? It's a question people have debated for years, first spurred by lyricist Tim Rice quipping (possibly sarcastically) in the early seventies that Christ was the villain of the piece, not the hero. The brilliance of the piece is in its almost ambivalent reportage: we see one week in the titular messiah's life, with a just-the-facts approach that never editorializes per se.

Over 200 guests attended the April 4th event, which was co-chaired by Michele Fabrizi and Celia Soehner, Esq. The night also featured musical performances by Pittsburgh Opera’s award-winning Resident Artists.

Royal Family Production (RFP) will present a benefit workshop presentation of the new musical Brass Heart by RFP associate artistic director Jessica Wu. The musical will be directed by Chris Henry with choreography by Lorna Ventura and will take place on Sunday, April 2nd with a special pre-show cocktail reception ($250, reception begins at 5pm) and Monday, April 3rdat 12:30pm.
