World-Class Artists Donate Work to Tribeca Film Festival Winners

The 2013 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by American Express, today announced the participants of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival Artists Awards Program, sponsored by CHANEL. Hailee Steinfeld, Amber Heard Join McG's Upcoming Thriller

EuropaCorp and Relativity Media have closed deals with Amber Heard (The Rum Diary, Paranoia), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) and Connie Nielsen (Gladiator) for their Untitled Thriller project starring previously announced Oscar-winner Kevin Costner (The Bodyguard, Dances With Wolves, Open Range). McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Salvation) directs the gripping action tale from a screenplay by Luc Besson (Taken, Transporter) and Adi Hasak (From Paris With Love). The film is currently in production in Paris and will continue in Serbia, where it will wrap on April 22nd. (more...)

Cinema for Peace to Honor Ben Affleck with '2013 Humanitarian Award'

The Cinema for Peace Foundation announced today that Academy Award-winning actor, filmmaker and founder of the Eastern Congo Initiative, Ben Affleck, will be honored with the Cinema for Peace Humanitarian Award at the 2013 Gala for Humanity on January 11 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif. Each year since 2002, Cinema for Peace gives the Humanitarian Award to an individual and his or her organization who has demonstrated the foresight, courage and leadership required to take a stand against extreme injustice, intolerance and inequalities. Brooklyn Museum Announces Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibition

The Brooklyn Museum will be the only East Coast venue for The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk, the first international exhibition dedicated to the groundbreaking French couturier, organized by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. The critically acclaimed touring show, already seen by half a million people, spans the Paris-based designer's 37-year career and includes iconic examples never before exhibited. The Brooklyn presentation will include new material not shown in the previous venues, including ensembles from his recent runway shows. (more...)
