'When You're In Love, The Whole World Is Jewish' is more than an expression - it is the name of a World Premiere comedy/musical revue, directed by Seinfeld's Jason Alexander, now playing to sold out houses at the Greenway Court Theatre in Los Angeles. The premise of the show is that a nice Jewish boy has fallen in love with a Catholic girl and wants his Rabbi to teach her to be a Jew. The rabbi sums the problem up with 'This is why Oy rhymes with Goy!' And the one-liners continue from there. (more...)

Casting Announced for Musicals Tonight's FADE OUT - FADE IN, 10/16-10/28 by BWW News Desk - Oct 01, 2012
The Musicals Tonight! Inc. revival of Fade Out - Fade In, a musical with a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and music by Jule Styne, will run from October 16 to October 28 at the Lion Theatre. The month brings an array of options for theatergoers of all ages, including the songbook of Frank Sinatra in Steve Lippia's Simply Sinatra, the PNC Kids Korner Series' lively family storytelling show Aesop's Fables, the comedy troupe The Second City and a free screening of the movie Hello, Dolly! February also brings Red, a drama that takes a provocative look at abstract expressionist Mark Rothko, and Paint the Town RED, a three-week public art display and fundraiser to benefit the Theatre's 2011/12 season. The Tale of the Allergist's Wife is a comedic exploration of the Upper West side life of Marjorie Taub - middle-aged and middle-class - her loving husband, Ira, and her daily routines at Zabar's and the 92nd Street 'Y.' Marjorie's mother lives down the hall obsessing constantly about her digestive tract; her beloved therapist has just died; and she loses it in a Disney store. Unexpectedly invading her depression is her flamboyant childhood friend Lee who becomes entrenched in the Taub household as a seemingly permanent guest, not only drawing Marjorie out of her dark mood, but affecting her marriage as well.
