Olivier Award-winning director Maria Aitken (39 Steps) will direct John Glover (Death of a Salesman), Marthe Keller (Judgment at Nuremberg) and Lisa Banes (Present Laughter) in a staged reading of Noel Coward's A Song at Twilight on Monday, April 16 at 7 pm at the Mainstage Theater (Playwrights Horizons). The performance, sponsored by the Noel Coward Foundation, is presented in conjunction with The Noel Coward-New York Festival 2012. A reception with the cast and director will be held following the performance. Ms. Aitken serves on the Artists Advisory Board of The Acting Company; Ms. Banes is an Alumna of the Company. Ten Chimneys, offering a revealing look at Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, will be presented in a staged reading starring Dana Ivey (The Importance of Being Earnest), Boyd Gaines (Driving Miss Daisy) and Lisa Banes (Go Back to Where You Are) by The Acting Company on Monday, March 14 at 7pm at the Mainstage Theater of Playwrights Horizons, 416 West 42nd Street. Directed by David Ira Goldstein, artistic director of Arizona Theatre Company, where Ten Chimneys had its recent World Premiere, the play is by Jeffrey Hatcher (Tuesdays with Morrie, Murder by Poe). On Monday, November 22, Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer of Lincoln Center Theater (LCT) received the John Houseman Award for his work at Lincoln Center and as Joseph Papp's Associate Producer of The New York Shakespeare Festival (NYSF) at The Acting Company's Masquerade Gala. Tom Viola, Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), was also honored with the Joan Warburg Humanitarian Award for his leadership and advocacy in the fight against AIDS. Kelsey Grammer and Patti LuPone entertained as Angela Lansbury, Marian Seldes, Elizabeth Wilson, Campbell Scott, Dana Ivey, Shubert's Philip Smith and Robert Wankel, Jujamcyn's Paul Libin, Equity's Nick Wyman, The Actors Fund's Joe Benecasa and The Broadway League's Charlotte St. Martin and more joined the salute.
