Mobile Unit's production of MEASURE FOR MEASURE opens today, Friday, November 22. Directed by LA Williams, the free sit-down run of MEASURE FOR MEASURE follows a three-week tour to correctional facilities, homeless shelters, social service organizations, and community centers in all five boroughs. MEASURE FOR MEASURE will run in the Shiva Theater through Sunday, December 8.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) will begin previews for the MOBILE UNIT's production of Shakespeare's MEASURE FOR MEASURE on Monday, November 18. The Public Theater announced today the Public Forum and Public Shakespeare Initiative fall line-up that will explore the intersection of art, ideas, and action and illuminate the study and performance of Shakespeare's works.

Two River Theater presents Oo-Bla-Dee, written by Regina Taylor, featuring original lyrics by Taylor and original music by composer/orchestrator Diedre L. Murray, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. he Center at West Park will present four workshops of new plays at the Furnace Festival this August. The Furnace Festival is a workshop for developing 'hot new plays, fresh from the oven.' These plays, which include Little Lives by Shara Feit, [Un]Earthed by Lavinia Roberts, Tokophobia by Jenny Bokoch Gillett, and And the Trees Fall Down by Viviana Prado-Nuñez, ask questions like 'What does it mean to create life?' and 'How do we prepare when the storm comes?'
