Lex-Ham Community Band Celebrates 25th Anniversary with BANDWIDTH 2017

The Lex-Ham Community Band will continue its celebration of its 25th anniversary with BandWidth 2017, set for Sunday, April 30, 12:00 to 5:45 p.m., at the Landmark Center, 75 West 5th Street, in downtown Saint Paul. The event will showcase community-based bands from around the Twin Cities. The event is hosted by the Lex-Ham Community Band of Saint Paul.

As a student, Lei Liang attended class mere blocks from the Tiananmen Square protests; ever since, he has viewed art as a way to counteract violence and find freedom. His compositions pay homage to his Chinese culture while drawing on Western counterpoints. This Portrait, featuring several of Liang's West Coast colleagues, explores opposing forces, bringing together light and dark, paradise and inferno.
