The award-winning Musical Theatre Guild, a company of professional performers who present concert-staged readings of seldom seen musicals, will continue its 14th season with the Jule Styne/Comden & Green musical: FADE OUT - FADE IN. Upon the January 27th Finale of six, sold-out nights of competition among 18 contestants at Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's in Studio City, CA, the vivacious Theresa Anne Swain was named LA's Next Great Stage Star 2009. The annual talent search has become the most high profile stage competition in Los Angeles since its inception in 2006. Cabrillo Music Theatre of Thousand Oaks, Calif proudly kicks off the new 2008-2009 season by announcing that Deborah Gibson will star in Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic, 'The King and I'. Cabrillo Music Theatre's Artistic Director Lewis Wilkenfeld will direct, while Darryl Archibald will serve as Musical Director and Conductor. The production will feature the original Jerome Robbins choreography of the 'Small House of Uncle Thomas' Ballet, recreated by Irene Cho, who performed the piece under Robbins' supervision in 'The King and I' and 'Jerome Robbins' Broadway'.
