Cynthia Stillwell Casting has put out a call on Backstage.com for the Lifetime film version of "The Trip to Bountiful," starring Vanessa Williams and Cicely Tyson. According to the project description, "A woman's determination to go home one last time restores hope and faith to her family."

On Monday, October 7th, the Screen Actors Guild Foundation raised over $130,000 for its Catastrophic Health Fund and Assistance programs at its inaugural New York Golf Classic at Trump National Golf Club in Westchester, NY. Actor and SAG Foundation Board Member Ron Perlman hosted the first New York tournament benefitting performers facing life-threatening illnesses and severe economic hardship. The critically acclaimed revival of Horton Foote's American masterpiece, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, will host a special free talkback following the performance on Tuesday, September 17 with acclaimed news anchor Dan Rather. New York Times reporter Wilborn Hampton will interview Mr. Rather about his friendship with playwright Horton Foote and their shared hometown of Wharton, TX the real life Bountiful. Academy Award winner CUBA GOODING JR. will give his final performance in the critically acclaimed revival of Horton Foote's American masterpiece, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, on Tuesday, August 27th, due to a change in schedule for an upcoming film project. Gooding made his Broadway debut in the acclaimed revival and can currently be seen nationwide in the hit film, Lee Daniels' The Butler.

The critically acclaimed revival of Horton Foote's American masterpiece, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, will host a special free talkback following the performance on Wednesday evening, August 14th. Focusing on the creative process of THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, this one-night only event will feature stars VANESSA WILLIAMS, CUBA GOODING JR, TOM WOPAT and ADEPERO ODUYE and will be moderated by writer and critic, CARYN JAMES. All ticket holders for the evening performance on August 14th are invited to stay for the talkback. THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL talkback series kicked off last week with a panel featuring Betty Buckley, Ellen Burstyn, and Hallie Foote as they discussed the appeal and challenges of appearing in a Horton Foote play.

BroadwayWorld previously reported that Horton Foote's THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE would aim for a Fall 2010 Broadway opening, rather than rush the show into Broadway's Neil Simon Theatre following its acclaimed Signature Theatre run. The Hartford Courant is now reporting that Foote's play is no longer being considered for a Fall 2010 opening: 'all the talk is about the spring.'

THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE, the world premiere of a three part theatrical event by the late Academy Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Horton Foote, is now in its final two weeks at Off-Broadway's Signature Theatre Company. Following two extensions, the production's critically acclaimed run ends Saturday, May 8.
