Hugh Jackman Offered Role in SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN

According to Deadline.com, Tony winner Hugh Jackman has been offered the role of the huntsman in Universal Pictures' 'Snow White and the Huntsman.' If Jackan accets the role, he will star along side Kristin Stewart and Charlize Theron. Rupert Sanders is on board to direct the film. ( more...)

Craig Cast in 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' Series

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Daniel Craig has been signed to star in the film adaptation of Stieg Larsson's 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' and two possible sequels. The film will be written by Steve Zaillan and directed by David Fincher. The two sequels are titled 'The Girl Who Played with Fire' and 'The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.' ( more...)

THE WIZARD OF OZ Lands in Austin

A staged production of L. Frank Baum classic The Wizard of Oz is playing Bass Concert Hall this weekend. A near exact recreation of the film we all know and love - laced with bits and pieces of the book with some modern aspects tossed in - the show is a fun time for children, and a nice way to introduce them to live theater. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, 'Twilight' star Kristen Stewart is hoping to soon test her acting chops onstage, preferrably in the West End. Inspired by friend Eddie Redmayne, whom she saw perform in RED at the Donmar Warehouse (Redmayne is now performing in RED on Broadway), Stewart told 'Vogue' magazine of the challenge: "Unlike movie acting, you have to deliver the whole performance there and then. According to Entertainment Weekly, Daniel Craig is in early talks to star in 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.' 'The Hurt Locker' won Best Picture and the film's director Kathryn Bigelow took home the award for Best Director. Jeff Bridges took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his work in 'Crazy Heart', Sandra Bullock won Best Actress for 'The Blind Side', Christoph Waltz took home Best Supporting Actor for 'Inglourious Basterds' and Mo'Niqe garnered the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Precious'.
