Gulfshore Playhouse Presents New Comedy 'Unnecessary Farce' by Beau Higgins - Jan 27, 2011
While Gulfshore Playhouse generally casts professional actors from New York, the cast of Unnecessary Farce consists of several professional actors from Florida led by Naples resident Zolan Henderson playing Officer Eric. Gulfshore Playhouse audiences may remember Zolan as Dr. Bob in last year's successful run of Beau Jest. Terry Wells, who hails from the St. Petersburg area, will be playing Mayor Meekley, and another Florida resident, Elizabeth Dimon, from Boca Raton, will be playing Mrs. Meekley, the Mayor's wife. Christopher Swan, known for various productions in the Florida area, will make his Gulfshore Playhouse debut as Agent Frank, the Mayor's nefarious security guard. Wendy Bergamini, playing accountant Karen Brown, just finished playing Miss Olsen in the Broadway revival of Promises, Promises, starring Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes. Rounding out the cast are Justin Holcomb as Todd, the mysterious Scottish hit man and Katrina Foy as Officer Billie. Gulfshore Playhouse audiences will remember Katy as Marianne in Tartuffe.

Gulfshore Playhouse Announces Its Educational Offerings by Beau Higgins - Aug 14, 2010
The Gulfshore Playhouse Theatre Education Project serves Southwest Florida through a wide variety of unique educational opportunities. The programming provides people from the diverse community accessibility to the art of theatre. Program offerings range from ART SMART, the in-school residencies which teach content curriculum in the schools, to the STAR (Student Theatre Artist in Residence) after-school theatre classes and Summer Acting Intensives, as well as The Saturday Series which features acting and technical training for adults, taught by professional actors and members of the Gulfshore Playhouse creative team.

Gulfshore Playhouse announced it's newest Educational Initiative, The Saturday Series. The Saturday Series is an array of offerings from Playhouse Designers, Directors and visiting Playwrights and Actors, each offered in one-day bite-sized pieces. They're informational, educational, fun and enriching. And because you only need sign up for one, they're easy to commit to as well. For adults ages 16 and up.

'The S.T.A.R. Program' by Beau Higgins - Apr 18, 2009
Participants will work directly with Gulfshore Playhouse Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Kristen Coury, who will instruct the S.T.A.R. teens in acting. This portion will shed light on character development, scene breakdown, breathing and relaxation, as well as audition technique. Students will also benefit from discussion with and mentoring by professional actors, agents, directors and choreographers. Technical instruction, with qualified creative designers, will expose the teens involved to the design process and the basic elements of technical theatre, such as lighting, sound and basic set design. Gulfshore Playhouse Presents Classic Comedy 'Tartuffe' by Beau Higgins - Mar 10, 2009
The role of the wily Tartuffe will be tackled by English actor Richard Crawford. He will also double as Madame Perenlle, the benefactor's aged mother. Mr. Crawford Trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq and Rose Bruford College. He has appeared in productions at the La Jolla Playhouse and other prominent regional theatres. Richard served as lead clown in 'Slava's Snowshow' at the Union Square Theater and has directed clown work for Cirque du Soleil's 'Dralion' and 'Petrushka' at Carnegie Hall. In addition to performing he teaches Lecoq technique at S.U.N.Y Purchase. (more...)

'Another Night Before Christmas' by Beau Higgins - Nov 24, 2008
Paul Romero plays 'the Guy' and has worked extensively in regional theatre across the country and on television on programs like Spin City, Law & Order, 100 Centre Street, Chappelle's Show, All My Children, Guiding Light and several late night talk shows. Ashley Puckett Gonzales, who portrays Karol, has many regional credits, including locally at the Jupiter Maltz Theatre as Kathy in 'Full Monty,' has been seen in the 30th Anniversary national tour of 'Annie' and does voice over work for a handful of programs on Cartoon Network.
