August 2018 Programming Highlights for Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior

Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Junior announce programming highlights for August 2018. Check out what's coming this August below! 

Academy Award-nominated actor Don Cheadle ('Avengers: Infinity War,' 'House of Lies') will guest star as Donald Duck's intelligible voice, as a result of an inventive voicebox, in the epic one-hour season finale of Disney's hit series 'DuckTales,' SATURDAY, AUG. 18 (9:30-10:30 a.m. EDT), on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW and Disney Channel VOD. The star-studded season one finale will also feature Lin Manuel-Miranda (Broadway's 'Hamilton,' Disney's 'Moana'), Catherine Tate ('Doctor Who') and Kimiko Glenn ('Orange Is the New Black'), who reprise their roles as Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera (aka Gizmoduck), Magica De Spell and Lena, respectively. In the episode titled 'The Shadow War!,' Magica De Spell is close to exacting revenge on Scrooge, so the family races against time to plan a dangerous rescue mission to save Scrooge and the city.

YouTube Premium scripted comedy series “Liza On Demand” launches today. Watch the hilarious trailer. “Liza on Demand” follows the chaotic misadventures that ensue as the eponymous character takes on various gigs, tasks and odd jobs in her quest to climb the ranks and become an “elite tasker.” In episode one, “Stranger Things” actor Noah Schnapp guest stars.

YouTube and VidCon are partnering once again to produce a live entertainment showcase to kick off the 9th Annual VidCon US. YouTube OnStage is in its second year and will be a dynamic celebration of the biggest trends and artists on the platform today and will stream live on the YouTube Spotlight Channel as well as the YouTube VidCon Channel.

Kent Alterman, President of Comedy Central announced today that the Emmy® Award-winning Comedy Central series, Drunk History, has been renewed for a sixth season with sixteen episodes. Created for television by Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner, Drunk History is produced by Central Productions and executive produced by Waters and Konner, along with Gary Sanchez Productions' Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Owen Burke. Ian Friedman and Daniel Wolfberg are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central. The fifth season currently airs on Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

The cast and director line-up for upcoming Youtube Red series, LIZA ON DEMAND, has been finalized, with production having recently begun in Los Angeles this month.
