Guthrie Director Joe Dowling today announced the 21 plays of the Theater's 2009-2010 season, a blend of classics, fresh takes on timeless themes and exciting presentations - including renewed and continuing partnerships and the return of the Guthrie's prestigious WorldStage program. Ranging from uproarious comedies to a modern retelling of Ibsen's feminist classic to stories centered on Chinese opera and American jazz, the 2009-2010 season showcases Shakespeare, celebrated Irish playwrights and new American voices.

Hot on the heels of their smash-hit How? How? Why? Why? Why?, humorist, storyteller and NPR-contributor Kevin Kling returns to Seattle Rep with singer/accordionist Simone Perrin for the world premiere of a new collection of vignettes, stories and songs called Breakin' Hearts & Takin' Names. This time around, the two take on all things amore-from romantic dalliances, to brotherly love, to the joy of the human spirit.
Seattle Rep Cancels Broadway Bound 'Waiting for Godot' With Irwin

Seattle Repertory Theatre has cancelled their production of the Broadway bound Waiting for Godot due to the loss of a financial backer. Actor Bill Irwin was set to star in production, scheduled to open on January 15th and run through February 14th. The theater has replaced the production with Athol Fugard's Road to Mecca, directed by Leigh Silverman.

The Guthrie today announced two additions to its upcoming holiday season programming. The hilarious and well-loved storyteller Kevin Kling returns to the Wurtele Thrust Stage on Monday, December 8, in his celebrated one-man show: Kevin Kling: Tales from the Charred Underbelly of the Yule Log, while local honky tonk band Trailer Trash brings its annual Trashy Little Xmas Family Show to the Dowling Studio on December 14.
