OpenStack Incorporates Coraid Drivers for Software-Defined Storage

Coraid, a leading provider of software-defined storage solutions, today announced that it has contributed drivers for ATA-over-Ethernet (AoE) and Coraid EtherCloud to OpenStack Block Storage. The AoE driver enables storage access over connectionless, massively parallel 10 Gigabit Ethernet, providing superior performance versus legacy storage networking. These drivers will allow public, private and hybrid OpenStack-based clouds to seamlessly integrate with Coraid's EtherDrive and EtherCloud platforms to deliver scalable, automated storage services. Coraid also announced that it has joined the OpenStack community as a corporate sponsor.

STARZ Orders Original Ballet Series from Lawrence Bender & Moira Walley-Beckett

Starz announced today that it will develop a new original drama series from 'Breaking Bad' Co-Executive Producer Moira Walley-Beckett and Lawrence Bender. The currently untitled drama follows a young female ballet dancer, Claire, who has a distinctly troubled past as she joins a prestigious ballet company in New York. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a restored version of the comedic silent film SHOW PEOPLE (1928) tonight, November 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Kevin Brownlow, who received an Honorary Award (an Oscar® statuette), will introduce the film, which was restored under his supervision and features a stereo musical score by composer Carl Davis.
