Sandy Spring's Orbit Arts Academy is excited to announce that Broadway Performer, Keven Quillon will be in town for a masterclass on October 2nd.

A Sign of the Times, the new pop-fueled musical featuring songs made famous by Petula Clark and other hit-makers of the 1960s, recently wrapped up a successful five-week run at Goodspeed's Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn. where the show played from July 29 - September 4 to packed houses. News of an upcoming production will be announced.

This is the story of Cindy, a 20-something whose dreams are bigger than her Midwestern hometown will allow. Set against the backdrop of New York City in the 1960s -women's liberation, the civil rights movement, and protests of the Vietnam war-Cindy searches for her place in the world. A Sign of the Times, featuring chart-topping hits from the 1960s, celebrates friendship, love, and discovering one's sense of self. This pop-fueled musical will run July 29 - September 4 at The Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn. A Sign of the Times will be sponsored by Essex Savings Bank.

A Sign Of The Times, A New '60s Musical headed to Goodspeed's Norma Terris Theatre this summer, will hold a private industry reading on April 28-29.

The inimitable Carol Channing was feted in style on Saturday night as the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, California presented Carol Channing's 95th Birthday! In Celebration of a Broadway Legend. The star-studded performance was produced and directed by Chad Hilligus, with music direction and orchestrations by Steven Baker and choreography by Charlie Williams. The world premiere of a new version of the Meredith Willson musical, THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN, is open at the Denver Center Theatre Company. Based on the book by Richard Morris, the revitalized production will feature a new book and additional lyrics by three-time Tony Award nominee Dick Scanlan (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and showcase never before heard songs from Willson's prolific body of work with musical adaptation by Michael Rafter(Violet). What a week this has been. The cast was excited to be on their feet, turning the cerebral into the physical. It's been a week of staging, cutting, adding, discussing and finessing. It's important to remember that everyone is valuable, and finding the best way to utilize their individual talents goes "part and parcel" with team leadership.

The first week began on a high, a mile-high to be exact. Just like the miners who came to Colorado in search of treasure, the cast, crew and design team of The Unsinkable Molly Brown, led by Kathleen Marshall journeyed to the Denver Center to begin telling the story of Margaret 'Call Me Molly' Tobin Brown. As with most 'First Day of School' days, the energy, excitement and anticipation permeated the room. After a brief introduction, DCPA Producing Artistic Director Kent Thompson began by telling us how truly special Margaret 'Molly' Brown is to the people of Denver and how thrilled the community was to have this production premiere at the DCPA.
