Ridgefield Playhouse Film Society Presents THE BOYS IN THE BAND with Actor Q&A, 6/30 by BWW News Desk - Jun 11, 2013
THE BOYS IN THE BAND is a classic 1970 film directed by William Friedkin, and co-stars Laurence Luckinbill as an out-of-the-closet husband and father. The screenplay by Mart Crowley is based on his hit Off-Broadway play of the same title. 'THE BOYS IN THE BAND is not a musical" read the film's original ads. As the first major film studio production to deal frankly with homosexuality, every member of the show's original Off-Broadway cast ap- pears in the iconic film, including Laurence Luckinbill. Masterworks Broadway to Release SEVENTEEN and London CABARET Cast Recordings by BWW News Desk - Oct 18, 2012
Masterworks Broadway continues to release cast recordings previously unavailable in the CD era. Seventeen (1951 Original Broadway Cast) and Cabaret (1968 Original London Cast) will be available as downloads through all major digital service providers and as disc-on-demand with the original cover art, via Arkivmusic.com and Amazon.com. Stage Door Records to Release 1980 Original London Cast Recording of COLETTE, 2/22 by BWW News Desk - Feb 22, 2010
Stage Door Records will release of the 1980 Original London Cast Recording of the musical COLETTE by John Dankworth on February 22nd. The release will be the first time the recording has been available on CD. The musical starred Cleo Laine in the title role. The show originally opened at The Stables Theatre, Wavendon in 1979 and transferred to the Comedy Theatre, London in September 1980. (more...)
