EXCELLENT, EFFECTIVE, PERFECT, UNSURPASSED, PREEMINENT, HIGHEST QUALITY etc. None of those are sufficient enough to describe the Songs, the Arrangements, the Performers, the Musicians, David Zippel and of course the great CY COLEMAN in a production at 59E59. As BroadwayWorld reported, yesterday, television icon Regis Philbin, who has been the male anchor of ABC's Live! for 28 years, announced that come the start of fall he would be retiring from his post. He did not specify a specific farewell date. Last night, he received a call from David Letterman on which he clarified that he isn't actually retiring - just simply leaving Live!. The show will run through April 17, 2010. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the opening night. The show features music from her latest CD of Hollywood classics, Soundtrack, as well as standards, fan favorites and original compositions.
