Gregory Boyd, Artistic Director of the Alley Theatre, announces the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Syncing Ink, which begins previews February 3, opens February 8 and runs through March 5 in the Neuhaus Theatre. Syncing Ink, a semi-autobiographical play by NSangou Njikam leads audiences on a mystical, lyrical Hip Hop ride to discover what it really takes to freestyle.

Company Cypher to Stage NYC Premiere of GUTTING

COMPANY CYPHER in association with AMY RAFA and SARAH STITES announce casting for the NYC Premiere of the award winning GUTTING, written by Jeremy J. Kamps and directed by Zoey Martinson. The play follows fourteen-year-old Kali returning home to post-Katrina Lower 9th Ward. We are commemorating the 10th anniversary of the hurricane with this production of GUTTING accompanied by community programming addressing the related issues of displacement, gentrification and racism. It plays September 24 - October 3 at Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre (NBT: 2031 Fifth Avenue between 125th and 126th Streets).

Now in its ninth year, the Yale Drama Series Prize is given out annually for a play by an emerging playwright, selected by a judging panel of one - a preeminent playwright of our time.  The winner receives the David Charles Horn Prize of $10,000, as well as publication of the winning play by Yale University Press and a staged reading at Lincoln Center Theater's Claire Tow Theater.  The Yale Drama Series is an annual international open submission competition for emerging playwrights who are invited to submit original, unpublished, full-length, English language plays for consideration.  Seyda's play was selected from 1,478 entries from 47 countries.
