The Media Theatre held a fundraising Season Preview Event in Rose Valley Saturday September 22. The evening featured the premier unveiling of the professional music theatre's new Cunningham baby grand piano. Resident music director Tom Fosnocht christened the piano as the supreme vocals of Broadway's Tony nominated actress Ann Crumb filled the main room of the home of Lee and Carol Thaler Roberts. VH1 Launches New Series MISS YOU MUCH About Stars of the '90s and 2000s Tonight, 9/9

Have you ever wondered what's up with some of your favorite TV, movie or pop stars from the last 20 years? VH1 will give you the exclusive details with 'Miss You Much,' hosted by actress-comedienne Catherine Reitman. Not all young celebrities end up with a mug shot and an arrest record. Some have moved on to careers outside of entertainment, while many are still active in showbiz. 'Miss You Much,' the 8-episode, half-hour series will premiere in early 2013. Viewers can also catch a sneak-peek look at the series with the 'Miss You Much' one-hour special, airing tonight, September 9 at 10pm*. (more...)

BWW Reviews: The Muny's Lively Production of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT

If you like your JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT's straight up (no chaser), then the current production playing The Muny may not be your cup of tea. But, if you like it when they give the show a St. Louis twist, then this is your type of musical. I've seen enough productions of this particular show to want something a little different myself, so I was completely charmed by the Muny's take of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's work. (more...)

Also appearing are Jackie Hoffman as Mama Morton, Patti Cohenour as Mary Sunshine and Dean Christopher as Amos Hart.

BWW Reviews: Sparkling Production of CHICAGO at the Muny

If you've only seen the movie version of CHICAGO, and it's a pretty sexy and sleek story on the big screen, you have to do yourself a favor and check out the current production at the Muny. The Muny has such an expansive stage that some musicals can get lost, but not this one. In this case, CHICAGO seems larger than life, and that's appropriate since the story and characters are so bold and brazen. I highly recommend this show, especially if you haven't seen it on stage before, because it's a terrific production that pulls no punches. (more...)
