On Thursday, August 2, The California Women's Conference (CWC) launched their plans for this years highly anticipated conference on September 23rd & 24th at the Hotel Maya/Double Tree Hotel by Hilton in Long Beach. Among those in attendance were Marcia Cross, Frances Fisher, Tippi Hedren, Sharon Lawrence, Morgan Brittany, Kate Linder, Erin Murphy, Romi Dames, Donzaleigh Abernathy, Geri Jewell, Lee Purcell, Mother Love, Barbara Van Orden and Mary McDonough, Kami Cotler and Judy Norton of The Waltons fame.

On February 15 at the historic Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills for one night only renowned Musical Theatre of Los Angeles will present a benefit Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat: In Concert! Starring as Joseph will be Broadway's David Burnham, who appeared in the national tour as Joseph, and special guest TV and film star Lorenzo Lamas will make a rare stage appearance as Pharoah. They will be backed by a full-size Broadway orchestra and a 60 member youth choir. Joseph will be directed by Mark Rozzano with musical direction by Greg Haake, choreography and musical staging by Jim Borstelmann and Colette Brandenburg. James Lent serves as assistant musical director and Jonas Sills as youth vocal director and associate producer.

It was an eclectic representation Hollywood talent that gathered on Thursday at the Egyptian theatre. From Broadway hits like "Grease" and "Peter Pan" to films such as "Westside Story" and "E.T. The Extraterrestrial" as well as cast members of many TV classics from "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "My Three Sons," "Bewitched," "Happy Days" and "The Waltons" to "Y&R" and "Hanna Montana" were present as Red Line Tours proudly unveiled their new series of collectible souvenir tickets designed by world-renowned artist, Andre Miripolsky. One of television's royal families gathered this weekend, to celebrate one of their own. 'I can't believe they are all here!' declared a voice from the audience in response to seeing eight cast members from the hit series 'The Waltons' up in front of fans on Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles. Michael Learned (Olivia Walton/Momma) wasn't surprised at all saying, 'Mary has always been the one to instigate gatherings. Sometimes, she calls and says, 'OK it's about time we got together.'

This is my first cabaret review for 2010, not counting the finale for LA's Next Great Stage Star 2010 held at Sterling's Upstairs @ Vitello's earlier this month on January 3. I must admit, I have yet to be disappointed @ Sterling's with the service or with the cabaret artist being showcased. Proving no exception, An Evening with Judy Norton on Sunday, January 31 was a stellar show with a true night club star.

Producer Laura Coker has announced an added performance for Blood Brothers, the Olivier Award-winning, Tony-nominated musical drama by Willy Russell on Sunday, November 23 at 8 pm.

A multi-ethnic cast highlights stinging themes of class and poverty when Whitefire artistic director Bryan Rasmussen directs Blood Brothers, the Olivier Award-winning, Tony-nominated musical drama by Willy Russell (Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine). The tragic musical tale opens at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks on October 18 for a six-week run through November 23.

The Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood, CA was transformed into an Old Hollywood 1920s Classic Themed Party, replete with breathtaking 20-foot-high Art Deco silver statues and other stunning decorative ornaments from the period, as guests attending the Hollywood Arts Council's Historic Sold-Out 30th Anniversary Black-Tie Gala and 22nd Annual Charlie Awards strolled down a 30-foot-long Red Carpet to a cozy and intimate Outdoor Courtyard Reception and Silent Auction, later followed by an elegant three-course catered Dinner and Awards Show, held on the Jim Henson Studios' Sound Stage on Saturday, March 29, 2008.
