THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS (THE MUSICAL!) to Play Theatre Memphis, 11/8-23

The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!), by Eric Rockwell and Joanna Bogart, makes a comeback to the Theatre Memphis Next Stage November 8 - 23, 2013, with a return engagement already planned for January 10 - 19, 2014. The original sold out production at TM in 2007 was directed by Bennett Wood and he returns as well to reprise that role. Gary Beard is coming back as Musical Director, too. Pam Hurley is choreographing.

Theatre Memphis Presents A SONDHEIM CELEBRATION, Now thru 7/22

The Summer Showcase Series at Theatre Memphis this year will include a restaging of a Sondheim review first performed in November of 2011 and a newly envisioned compilation of Broadway songs performed by young people. Both are being performed in the Next Stage at Theatre Memphis and are not part of the season ticket membership.

After record breaking audiences for previous shows in the season, the final show of the 2011-12 season at Theatre Memphis will be No, No, Nanette from tonight, June 8 to July 1, 2012. No, No, Nanette stars Bennett Wood, Julie Jacobson Hight, Jude Knight, Robert Hanford, Emily Pettet and Chris Hawk with other principal roles cast with Donna Lappin, Annie Strong, Emily Chateau and Miriam Rodriguez.

After record-setting attendance during the 34th annual 2011 performances of A Christmas Carol at Theatre Memphis, Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest opens on the Lohrey Stage on January 27, 2012, and runs through February 12, 2012. There is much excitement by Theatre Memphis that the world's most popular comedy of manners will be as well received as the prior 2011-12 season offerings and will contribute to the continuing tickets sales increases that Theatre Memphis has experienced so far this season.
