Quintessence Theatre Group brings Eugene O'Neill's masterpiece Long Day's Journey into Night to life as the second show of its 8th Season. The company's first modern American classic takes center stage at the Sedgwick Theater, October 4-22. Opening Night is Saturday, October 7 at 7 p.m.

In a spare, tautly sculpted performance of Shakespeare's classic tragedy of deceit and jealousy, The Theater at Monmouth's offers a gripping, tension-filled and tempestuous account of Shakespeare's Othello. Staged in simple contemporary dress with a strong cast, the production bears witness to the timelessness of the tale.

Four hundred and forty-five years later French playwright Moliere still bubbles with joyous, effervescent, sometimes mordant wit, and it is just this sparkle that Theater at Monmouth's new production of The Learned Ladies serves up in generous, exuberant fashion in an elegantly translated (uncredited), briskly performed, hugely witty comedy of manners about the affectations of a group of philosophy-loving women and the gender politics of their world.

Quintessence Theatre Group continues producing progressive classic theatre with its spring 2017 repertory productions of William Shakespeare's Love's Labor's Lost and John Ford's The Broken Heart.

In Netcong, New Jersey, the Growing Stage Theater is known for producing high quality productions such as Peter and The Starcatcher and A Christmas Carol. One of the more unique aspects of the Growing Stage though is an annual New Play Reading Festival. Each year, the theater selects four unpublished plays from authors all around the globe. These plays are read in front of a live audience, and are recorded to see how the audience reacts to their piece. The authors then have an interim period of editing before the second round of readings, which happen in the spring. The winning piece of the festival gets the most rewarding prize imaginable, as their piece becomes a full, main stage production at The Growing Stage the following season. 

Peter and the Starcatcher is based on the bestselling children's book by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. This Tony Award-winning show by Rick Elice, with music by Wayne Barker, is now showing at the Growing Stage Theater in Netcong through 10/23.

The Growing Stage, The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre on Route 183 in Netcong opens its 35th Anniversary Main Stage season with PETER AND THE STARCATCHER.  The show runs October 7th through the 23rd with performances Today evenings at 7:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4:00 PM.  

Broadwayworld.com interviewed Josh Carpenter who will play Black Stache in The Growing Stage production of 'Peter and the Starcatcher.' Directed by Stephen L. Fredericks with musical direction by Stephen Fox and choreography by Jillian Petrie, the show will be on the Netcong stage from through 10/23.

William Shakespeare's magical comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream opens at Theater at Monmouth tonight, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. One of Shakespeare's most popular plays, A Midsummer Night's Dream follows the journey of four young lovers as they find their way through the forest and to each other.
