BWW Review: THE BOOK OF MORMON is an Evening Full of Show Stopping Musical Hilarity and Heart
by Frank Benge
- Dec 11, 2015
THE BOOK OF MORMON is a satirical musical with book, lyrics, and music by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are the creators of the animated series South Park, which just wrapped up its 19th season. Lopez is best known as a co-composer/co-lyricist of Avenue Q and Frozen. THE BOOK OF MORMON is the story of two young Mormon missionaries who are sent to Uganda for their first mission. The boys have a naive outlook on life and little in common with each other. When they try to spread "the word" among the locals they find their audience has many things on their minds and religion is the last thing they are thinking about.

BWW Reviews: BOOK OF MORMON Gives Big, Bright Wonderful Hello to Fresno
by Harmony Wheeler
- Jul 17, 2015
Unconventional theatre that honors conventional, musical theatre classics. F bomb after F bomb that somehow manage to be surprisingly inoffensive. Hilarious joke after joke opposite shocking reality. "Book of Mormon" is full of pairs. It even begins with a very catchy number titled "Two by Two," in which young men pair off for their missions.

BWW Reviews: Ma Ha Nei Bu Eebowai for THE BOOK OF MORMON
by Amanda Finn
- May 22, 2015
It's quickly becoming a household name. Although it's nothing like some of the shows considered 'classic Broadway', it has erupted into an existence far from anything of its kind on stage. Book of Mormon could be considered a somewhat mythical creature in the realm of theatre. The ultimate amalgamation of all things Broadway and South Park - this show is a masterpiece.
