GOOD PEOPLE, BELLEVILLE, et al. Included in Steppenwolf's 2012-13 Season

Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Martha Lavey announced today the 2012/13 Subscription Season, including a Steppenwolf-commissioned world premiere and the work of fifteen ensemble members. The season begins in Steppenwolfs Downstairs Theatre with David Lindsay-Abaires Good People, directed by ensemble member K. Todd Freeman. Up next, ensemble member Anna D. Shapiro directs The Motherf**ker with the Hat by Stephen Adly Guirgis. In the Upstairs Theatre, ensemble member Austin Pendleton directs The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter. In April 2013, ensemble member Tina Landau directs the Steppenwolf-commissioned world premiere of Head of Passes by ensemble member Tarell Alvin McCraney, their first collaboration since the widely-praised The Brother/Sister Plays (2010). The season concludes with Belleville by Amy Herzog, directed by Anne Kauffmann. ( more...)

"Beaten/Cover Letter" - The devastating blows come left and right as Fitch, Washington, Stone and Sanchez invade the boxing world to investigate the death of Vanessa King. King's fianc, Tommy Westin, is preparing for a big match against Dap "The Detroit Hammer" Fields. The detectives discover Vanessa, an ex-girlfriend of Fields', was hiding a closely guarded secret which could have thrown the fight and its payday into question. Meanwhile, Longford and Mahajan are forced to give a cold case a fresh look: It's been five years since James Lakeland died. Now Lakeland's mother brings new evidence to the squad. A love triangle is uncovered and the detectives must piece together Lakeland's two lives, the one with his wife and daughter and the other with his married lover who has hidden a crucial piece of the puzzle all these years. The detectives are confronted with tough ethical issues in order to bring a resolution to the case, on "Detroit 1-8-7," TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

"Road to Nowhere" - When Henry Malloy, one of Detroit's respected philanthropists and humanitarians, is found shot in his car moments after receiving the key to the city, Fitch is targeted as the main suspect. Even as Special Agent Jess Harkins interrogates the members of the squad about Fitch's possible involvement in the headline-making crime, Fitch and Washington are busy investigating a bizarre case... Three murder victims are found on a public bus with thousands of dollars floating around the crime scene. But the case takes an even stranger turn when the detectives try to track the money, find the missing bus driver, identify the victims and discover a kidnapping gone awry. Will Fitch's usual no-holds-barred effort be enough to bring the murderer to justice?
