Constellation Theatre's adult puppet musical Avenue Q swept the 32nd annual Helen Hayes Awards honoring professional theater in Washington, D.C., on Monday with seven awards including outstanding musical.

Tonight, before a gathering of theatre artists and patrons, theatreWashington announced the winners of the 2016 Helen Hayes Awards, drawn from 202 eligible productions presented in the 2015 calendar year. Scroll down for the full list of nominees and winners!

D.C.'s Signature Theatre is currently presenting Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Road Show directed by Gary Griffin (Broadway's Honeymoon in Vegas, Signature's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), and according to the Washington Post, the creative team hopes it could have a future on Broadway.

Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's musical, about the real-life Mizner brothers and their quest for the ever elusive American dream, was praised as "fierce, funny, lean and heartbreaking" by the Chicago Sun-Times when Griffin's production premiered at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in 2014. Road Show will run from February 16 - March 13 in Signature Theatre's intimate MAX Theatre. Signature Theatre has announced the cast of Road Show directed by Gary Griffin (Broadway's Honeymoon in Vegas, Signature's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum). By popular demand, WEST SIDE STORY has been extended to January 31, 2016.

Signature Theatre opened The Fix directed by Signature Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer (Broadway's Gigi, Follies, Million Dollar Quartet). Featuring a book by John Dempsey and music by Dana P. Rowe (the creators of Brother Russia and The Witches of Eastwick).  The show quickly became a favorite among Signature's artistic team during its U.S. premiere at the Theatre in 1998, cementing a longstanding relationship with Dempsey and Rowe. Running in the MAX Theatre August 11 - September 20,the inside-politics musical satire is the first production of Signature Theatre's 2015/2016 season.
