Theater League has announced the 2013-2014 Thousand Oaks Broadway Series Live! at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. It is a season of spectacular National Tours featuring new shows fresh from Broadway and classic Broadway favorites. This noteworthy season full of sensational music kicks off with MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, a sparkling new production based on a legendary recording session; THEADDAMS FAMILY, a brand-new Broadway hit inspired by the classic television series; MAMMA MIA!, showcasing the magic of ABBA, with timeless songs and enchanting love; and WEST SIDE STORY, the revival of a classic musical filled with iconic dance numbers and unforgettable songs. Major Renovations Planned for Covedale Center This Summer

The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts - owned and operated by Cincinnati Landmark Productions (CLP) - will undergo a massive renovation aimed at improving the patron experience. The work was identified shortly after CLP bought the building in 2002 (with support from the city of Cincinnati), along with four other phases of renovation work to transform the old movie house into a 21st century performing arts center. The work scheduled for this summer is the last of the original five-phase renovation plan. (more...)

Shows included in the standard season package include the national tours of LES MISERABLES, WAR HORSE, THE BOOK OF MORMON, JEKYLL & HYDE, and MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. Also featured during the season are BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ROCK OF AGES, and JERSEY BOYS.

BWW Reviews: Rockin' Good Time at the Fox with MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

It's true that on December 4, 1956, Sun Records was host to an incredible meeting of four gentleman (Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis) who would go on to lay the foundation for Rock 'n' Roll, but a listen to the actual recording made that day prove that it was a much simpler affair than what's presented in the stage musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. Still, the inspiration that story provides (book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux) makes for a rockin' good time, and this award-winning show is fun from start to finish. (more...)

On Friday, April 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., Milk will be the first artist to participate in the series Sonos and VEVO present: The Director's Studio, presented in conjunction with the exhibition Spectacle: The Music Video, currently on view at Museum of the Moving Image through June 16, 2013.
