Sarasota Opera has announced the lineup for the 2023 Summer Classic Movies at the Opera House. The Classic Movies at the Opera House series featuring many beloved movies will open on Friday, May 12th at 7:30 pm with 2001: A Space Odyssey. Throughout the summer and into the fall, featured movies will include films ranging from the 1930's to the 1990's. Tickets will be $12 and will go on sale starting on Wednesday, May 3.  The Firehouse Theatre has announced the cast and creative team of their upcoming production of Saturday Night Fever. This high-energy jukebox musical, starring Averie Bishop as Stephanie and Edward Michael Escamilla as Tony Manero, the role immortalized on film by a young John Travolta, successfully recreates the feel of the movie and manages to capture its spirit, dazzling with crowd-pleasing 70s anthems, disco dance moves, and a dash of good ol’ fashioned romance.

GREASE, a perennial favorite for theaters and theater-goers, is quite the crowd-pleaser at Toby's Dinner Theater in Columbia, Maryland. It's full of fun songs you already know, excellent dancing and a tiny bit of plot. The cast is excellent and the staging is lively. It has many elements in common with the movie, but a PG rating isn't one of them.
