2013 Theatre World Award Winners Announced - Carvel, Hanks, McClure, Settle & More Plus Alan Alda to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

The 2013 Honorees for Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut Performance, the 5th Annual Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater for an Outstanding Performance in a Broadway or Off-Broadway Production, and the newly established John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre, were announced today. The winners will be celebrated at the 69th Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony set for a new day and time, representing a change from past years, on Monday evening, June 3, 2013 beginning at 6:45 p.m. at the Music Box Theater (239 West 45th Street), home of the current Broadway revival of Pippin. Leading the way was Best Actor nominee, John Tartaglia, who then went on to grace NY stages in Beauty and the Beast and Shrek: The Musical. Now, fans and audiences of the multi-talented comedian can anticipate his breakthrough performance into the world of feature films as John plays 'Dale,' the quirky manager of an offbeat retirement home in the upcoming Silent But Deadly. The comedy/horror will be screening as an Official Selection of the 8th annual Hoboken International Film Festival at the Paramount Theatre in Middletown, NY on the evening of June 5, 2013. The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) and Newtown Arts Company welcome the return of a student theater festival to the newly reopened Playhouse after an absence of two years. The BCP Student Theater Festival, produced by Newtown Arts Company and the Playhouse, will feature high schools and middle schools from the Pennsylvania and New Jersey area. In addition to the three exciting family productions to be showcased at the The New York Children's Theater Festival April 19 through May 5 (Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater, 10 West 64th Street at Central Park West), many special free activities will be available at the theater before and after performances for ticket holders. In addition, the festival will celebrate with a free kick-off event at Books of Wonder (18 West 18th St.).
