From Matthew Weiner, the creator of Mad Men, The Romanoffs is a contemporary anthology series set around the globe featuring eight separate stories about people who believe themselves to be descendants of the Russian royal family.

IFC today announced that acclaimed actress Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine, Carol) will guest star in an upcoming episode of Documentary Now!. In the previously announced episode 'Waiting for the Artist,' Blanchett stars as a world-renowned performance artist who feels pressured to put on the show of her life. Created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers and Rhys Thomas and executive produced by Lorne Michaels, the Emmy(R)-nominated DOCUMENTARY NOW! is known for lovingly paying homage to the world of documentaries. Season 52 is set to premiere Wednesday, February 20 at 10PM with seven all-new episodes airing only on IFC.

IFC announced new details for the highly-anticipated third season of Documentary Now!, the critically acclaimed and Emmy-nominated original comedy series created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers and Rhys Thomas. Known for lovingly paying homage to the world of documentaries, the series is returning with seven new episodes and begins production this June. The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of 55 diverse and engaging short films in competition, including 29 world premieres. The selected shorts include a cross-section of international and U.S. filmmakers and were curated from a record 4,754 submissions. For the second year running, 40% of the selections are directed by female filmmakers. The short films will be presented in 10 distinct competition programs, which consist of five narrative, three documentary, one animation, and one hybrid program. The program will also include special screenings and the 12th annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, sponsored by Mohegan Sun. The Shorts Film program, sponsored by Nutella®, runs throughout the Festival, April 18-29.

La MaMa continues its season-long celebration of the life and work of Sam Shepard with WEEKEND WITH SAM, two days of readings and excerpts from Sam Shepard's plays, prose and poetry, directed by Neil La Bute, Lois Weaver, Scott Wittman and Joel Zwick. WEEKEND WITH SAM will be held in The Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.) February 3 4, 2018. All readings are free and open to the public, but not open for review by critics.
