Winners of 2013 Student Academy Awards Announced by Movies News Desk - May 14, 2013
Thirteen students from nine U.S. colleges and universities as well as three students from foreign universities have been selected as winners in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Student Academy Awards competition. They will be brought to Los Angeles for a week of industry activities that will culminate in the awards ceremony, hosted by 1978 Student Academy Award winner and comedian Bob Saget, on Saturday, June 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Dane Cook Joins the Cast of Disney's PLANES by BWW News Desk - Feb 28, 2013
Dane Cook has been tapped to voice the lead character Dusty, a plane with high hopes in "Disney's Planes." Inspired by the world of "Cars" and directed by Disneytoon Studios veteran and aviation enthusiast Klay Hall ("King of the Hill," "The Simpsons"), "Disney's Planes" is an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure about Dusty's dream of competing as a high-flying air racer-and his decidedly unfortunate fear of heights. Disney to Cancel 3-D Re-Release of THE LITTLE MERMAID by Claire Hannum - Jan 15, 2013
According to the LA Times, Walt Disney studios has canceled their plan to release THE LITTLE MERMAID in 3-D this September. This decision arrives after poor box office performances for the 3-D re-releases of several other Disney films. (more...)

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced that it will present 15 films in their original 70mm glory, featuring a mix of beloved classics and rarely screened gems, all at the Walter Reade Theater - one of the last remaining cinemas in the country equipped to screen 70mm prints. (more...)
