Unavailable Memory: In Conversation with Cunningham & Cage is an evening of dance and music presenting Merce Cunningham's Totem Ancestor (1942) and Loops (1971) and six piano compositions by John Cage.

Led by drummer José Medeles (Breeders, 1939 Ensemble, Revival Drum Shop), Railroad Cadences & Melancholic Anthems is a drummer’s tribute to guitarist and DIY iconoclast John Fahey. Joined for a series of guitar and drum duets with M. Ward, experimental guitarist Marisa Anderson, and Chris Funk (Decemberists, Stephen Malkmus), it’s a genuinely honorific project, featuring not Fahey compositions, but rather a series of improvised rendezvous inspired and informed by his looseness and rhythmic idiosyncrasies.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) opens its fall 2021 digital season with In Conversation with Merce, a filmed presentation featuring a suite of solos and duets from Merce Cunningham's Landrover, and two world premieres by Liz Gerring and Kyle Abraham created in response to the 1972 work. The program includes interviews with the choreographers and with Merce Cunningham Trust stager Jamie Scott and trustee Patricia Lent.

Baryshnikov Arts Center announces the Fall 2021 digital season of free online presentations, including four world premieres made possible by BAC Artist Commissions.

The show will feature the music of The Juilliard String Quartet, Kinan Azmeh (clarinet), ETHEL and Musique Sans Frontières. Composers will include: Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ulysses Owens, Jr, James “Kimo” Williams, Robert Mirabal, Patrick Derivaz, Pat Irwin and John King. 

Written by Jeremy Keith Hunter, a DC-based multidisciplinary artist, and John King, a theatre-maker from Dublin, Side-Walks is a “visual short story about finding yourself after a year of isolation” and is the culmination of a pandemic-long collaboration between the two playwrights and Solas Nua.

“The Coronation and Crowning of Eleanor of Aquitaine” -- the third monologue by Stuart Bousel in a quartet about the period of English history known as The Anarchy -- features Katherine Park as the Duchess Eleanor a year before her eventual crowning as Queen Consort of England.. 'Eleanor of Aquitaine' is a meditation on how we learn to weather the unpredictable nature of our impossible to control world.

String Noise, the intrepid violin duo of Conrad Harris and Pauline Kim Harris, celebrates its tenth anniversary in grand style with the simultaneous release of three new recordings on Friday, March 26.

In response to the destruction caused by Typhoon Hagibis in Japan, Kyo-Shin-An Arts and Arts at Tenri will donate all box office proceeds from the TRIOS EAST AND WEST concerts to disaster relief responders for Typhoon Hagibis.
