BONZO BASH to Tribute Led Zeppelin's John Bonham at Revolution, 5/31 by BWW News Desk - May 16, 2013
Brian Thomas Tichy and his partner Joe Sutton have decided to bring their John Bonham celebration, 'Bonzo Bash', to Long Island commemorating the life of rock's ultimate drummer - the drummer for Led Zeppelin, John Bonham. The show has been booked for Friday May 31st at Revolution 140 Merrick Rd in Amityville to pay tribute to John Henry Bonham on what would have been his 65th birthday. (more...)

1300 Students to Attend CYT-North Idaho's GREAT AMERICAN TALL TALES by BWW News Desk - May 07, 2013
Over 1300 local school children will attend one of 4 Field Trip Performances staged by CYT-NI during their 2 week run at the S.A. Kroc Community Theater. CYT-North Idaho's Great American Tall Tales has been a great draw for schools because it's storytelling at its best about many of American's first folk heroes. Davy Crockett, Paul Bunyan, Sally Ann Thunder, and John Henry are just some of the characters a group of students see come to life before their eyes after the museum closes for the day. (more...)

This May, Bang on a Can is producing three simultaneous international touring programs: in Europe featuring the renowned Bang on a Can All-Stars; in Beijing, China featuring the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra combined with a Festival Ensemble of musicians culled from its annual Summer Festival at Mass MoCA, and in Mexico featuring its renegade mobile ensemble Asphalt Orchestra. Coeurage Theatre Company Presents TRANSLATIONS, Beginning 5/25 by BWW News Desk - May 06, 2013
Coeurage Theatre Company (Jeremy Lelliott, Artistic Director), LA's 'Pay What You Want' Company, has announced their production of Translations by Brian Friel, directed by Coeurage Associate Artistic Director Ryan Wagner. There will be one preview performance on Friday, May 24 at 8pm, and opening is set for Saturday, May 25 at 8pm. Translations will play through June 23 only at The Lost Studio on S. CYT-North Idaho to Present GREAT AMERICAN TALL TALES, 5/17-26 by BWW News Desk - Apr 27, 2013
Tickets are now on sale for Christian Youth Theater - North Idaho's (CYT-NI) spring musical, Great American Tall Tales. This production which has over 100 local school age children between the cast and crew, opens May 17 at the Salvation Army Kroc Community Theater, 1765 W.Golf Course Rd., Coeur d'Alene, ID. All of the children are currently taking theater arts classes during CYT's spring session of their after-school theater arts education program. (more...)

Photo Flash: Art Wynwood Wraps 2nd Edition; Announces Record Attendance by BWW News Desk - Feb 26, 2013
The second edition of Art Wynwood, the Wynwood Art District's highly anticipated international contemporary art fair hosted by Art Miami LLC, closed its doors Monday, Feb. 18, following sales by more than 90 percent of participating galleries and more than 27,500 visitors - an increase of more than 4,000 from last year's inaugural fair. Once again the five-day fair was held during President's Day Weekend coinciding with the Yacht & Brokerage Show. Art Wynwood VIP Opening Draws Record-Breaking Attendance by BWW News Desk - Feb 20, 2013
Art Wynwood, Miami's international contemporary art fair during President's Day Weekend brought a crowd of 6,200 into the Wynwood Arts District - 1,100 more guests than last year. The VIP Preview honored the late Tony Goldman, a major force in the development of the Wynwood Arts District and the inaugural edition of Art Wynwood. An intimate gathering including Art Wynwood director Nick Korniloff and members of the Goldman family participated in a dove-releasing ceremony in Goldman's honor just before teems of prominent art collectors, designers, curators and art enthusiasts from around the world lined up outside the Art Miami Pavilion to get the first look and acquire new contemporary works. Tony Kushner to Receive WGAW's 2013 Paul Selvin Award for LINCOLN Screenplay by Movies News Desk - Jan 28, 2013
Writers Guild and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Tony Kushner has been chosen to receive the WGAW's 2013 Paul Selvin Award for his adapted screenplay for Lincoln. Named after the late Selvin, who served as counsel to the Guild, the award is given to the WGA member whose script best embodies the spirit of the constitutional and civil rights and liberties, which are indispensable to the survival of free writers everywhere. Kushner will be recognized, along with other honorees, at the Writers Guild Awards ceremony on Sunday, February 17, at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE. (more...)
