Kumu Kahau Theatre will present the world premiere of ALL THAT REMAINS, a story of loyalty and betrayal told by ghost soldiers from the 100th Infantry Battalion and the 442nd Regimental Combat team who return just one night to a forest in France to recreate a single act of violence that torments both the living and the dead. Using an experimental style drawing from Japanese Noh theatre, ALL THAT REMAINS offers a challenging, provocative look at the heroism and despair of war. (more...)

Working Theater to Present Site-Specific LA RUTA Inside 48' Truck, Beg. 4/10 by BWW News Desk - Mar 21, 2013
Working Theater, the 28-year-old Off-Broadway company, in collaboration with Magnum Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving the Magnum Photos legacy and supporting photography around social justice issues, have joined forces to present Ed Cardona, Jr.'s LA RUTA, a world premiere immigration-themed play that will be staged inside the trailer and cab of an actual 48' truck. Theater for the New City to Stage NY Premiere of PASSING THROUGH, 4/10-28 by BWW News Desk - Mar 15, 2013
Tristan Grigsby is a young, tall, virile, dark-haired, handsome, muscular actor and playwright whose first New York play, 'Passing Through,' is a deceptively spare, often humorous disquisition on loneliness. The play presents five characters, all of whom are in a particular state of loneliness, who go through brief dramatic encounters with each other and a visitor/messenger who has been sent by the gods to investigate their peculiar predicament. It has a gentle touch, a distilled style and a Beckettian effect. Theater for the New City will present the work April 10 to 28, directed by Guenevere Donohue. (more...)

Bay Street Players to Present RED, Opening 2/21 by BWW News Desk - Feb 11, 2013
Red, a drama Josh Logan, will open at the State Theatre in downtown Eustis on February 21 and run through February 24. Called "a visceral exercise in art appreciation" by the New York Times, Red tells the story of artist Mark Rothko, and his commission in 1958 to paint a series of murals for the Four Seasons restaurant in New York. The play explores the heart of a controversial artist and the compromises that must sometimes be made between art and the need to survive. This production features long-time friends and collaborators Terrence Shank and Joel Warren. (more...)
