In the Fall of 2010, multiple award-winning author/director PAUL LEVINE produced a workshop of BIG MAYBELLE: Soul of the Blues in association with the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts and Amas Musical Theatre.

The Guthrie Theater currently presents The Sunshine Boys-acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter Neil Simon's sidesplitting comedy. Directed by Gary Gisselman (Guthrie: A Christmas Carol, Lost in Yonkers), The Sunshine Boys features veteran actors Peter Michael Goetz and Raye Birk as Willie Clark and Al Lewis, respectively, a pair of crabby, retired vaudeville comedians persuaded to reunite after 11 years apart-despite the fact that they hate each other. 2012-2013 Tony Awards Nominating Committee Revealed

The Tony Awards Nominating Committee is a rotating group of up to 35 theatre professionals selected by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. Nominators serve for overlapping three-year terms. They are asked to see every new Broadway production and then meet each year shortly after the Tony eligibility deadline. They determine the nominations based on secret ballots supervised by an accounting firm. The results are announced early the following morning.

Raye Birk & Peter Michael Goetz to Lead Guthrie's SUNSHINE BOYS

The Guthrie Theater today announced the full cast and creative team for The Sunshine Boys-acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter Neil Simon's sidesplitting comedy. Directed by Gary Gisselman (A Christmas Carol, Lost in Yonkers), The Sunshine Boys will feature Guthrie favorites Raye Birk (Faith Healer, Third) and Peter Michael Goetz (1776, The Government Inspector) as Al Lewis and Willie Clark, respectively, a pair of crabby, retired vaudeville comedians persuaded to reunite after 11 years apart - despite the fact that they hate each other. When these seasoned stage partners are convinced to reunite for a CBS television comedy special, hilarity ensues. The New York Times called The Sunshine Boys "an evening that keeps you laughing and then leaves you surprisingly moved." The production also features a special cameo from renowned improvisational comedian and Brave New Workshop founder Dudley Riggs as Sketch Patient.

Dallas Theater Center presents God of Carnage at the Kalita Humphreys Theater, May 11 - June 17, directed by Joel Ferrell. The laugh-out-loud hilarious God of Carnage, Ferrell's first production since being named DTC Associate Artistic Director, stars Brierley Resident Acting Company members Hassan El-Amin, Sally Nystuen-Vahle and Christie Vela. Chris Hury will be making his DTC debut.

After seven years of writing, re-writing, fine tuning, and revelatory readings, Alexander deJong's opulent Liberace musical, ALL THAT GLITTERS will be presented in its Pre-Broadway workshop from Tuesday, May 8 through Friday, May 11 at the Baryshnikov Arts Center (450 West 37 Street - between Ninth and Tenth Avenues). The musical is aiming for an April 2013 Broadway Opening.

Signature Theatre has just introduced new supplemental programs which will allow more intimate and direct access to a playwright's vision and process. Just as the layout of The Pershing Square Signature Center encourages a dialogue between different plays and audiences, these supplemental programs invite theatregoers to go deeper into the world of a play, and the world of the artists behind it. Extended last week through April 1, the production will now play two additional weeks, through Sunday, April 15. Signature Theatre Company has just announced a one-week extension for EDWARD ALBEE'S THE LADY FROM DUBUQUE, directed by David Esbjornson. The production will now play through Sunday, April 1 and is the inaugural production in The End Stage Theatre at the company's new home The Pershing Square Signature Center. The production will open on Monday, March 5. Tickets during the extension week are $75 each. Signature announced yesterday that Katori Hall's HURT VILLAGE has also been extended, and will now play in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre through March 25.

Dallas Theater Center Announces Cast and Design Team of NEXT FALL

Dallas Theater Center announced today the cast of Next Fall, which runs at the Kalita Humphreys Theater April 13 - May 6, 2012. Terry Martin and DTC Brierley Resident Acting Company member Steven Michael Walters will lead the cast as Adam (Martin) and Luke (Walters). Martin is Producing Artistic Director at WaterTower Theatre and is making his DTC debut. Walters is Co-Artistic Director of Second Thought Theatre and appeared in this season's productions of The Tempest and A Christmas Carol.
