Village Theatre's NewWorks Program to Stage EASTBOUND

Village Theatre today announced that tickets are on sale now for the Village Originals Beta Production of Eastbound, a new bilingual musical about the unexpected meeting of two brothers from opposite sides of the world. Directed by Desdemona Chiang (Seattle Rep: The Winter’s Tale) and Music Directed by R.J. Tancioco (Village Theatre: Hairspray,  Newsies), this is a fully-produced developmental production with scenic design by Timothy Mackabee, costume design by Johanna Pan, and lighting design by Robert J. Aguilar.

First Preview of SNOW IN MIDSUMMER Postponed at CSC

Classic Stage Company announced today the first preview performance of Snow in Midsummer on Thursday, May 19 has been postponed due to technical difficulties. The show will now begin previews on Friday, May 20.

Classic Stage Company announced today complete casting for their upcoming production of Snow in Midsummer, written by Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig and directed by Zi Alikhan. Snow in Midsummer begins performances on Thursday, May 19 and officially opens on Wednesday, June 8 for a run through Saturday, July 9, 2022.

Between now and August, Morales Picó will be remaining on the Board of Directors along with fellow Co-Artistic Directors James Clements, Ana Cristina DaSilva and Sam Hood Adrain.

WWTNS Announces AGENCY IN STORYTELLING Symposium

What Will the Neighbors Say? is thrilled to announce our second bi-annual symposium, 'Agency in Storytelling.' The symposium is being produced by WWTNS? in association with Becky Abramowitz and Kori Rushton of IRT Theatre, who will host the event. The symposium will consider who can, and should, tell which stories - on stage and screen, in literature and through visual art. The discussion will examine the intersection of privilege, visibility and influence, and how that directly affects the access and space given to certain stories and their stakeholders. The symposium will be held on Wednesday October 9th, 2019 at 7pm at IRT Theatre, located at 154 Christopher St, New York, NY 10014. Tickets are pay what you wish, and are available at www.irttheater.org. Following the discussion, there will be a reception with the panellists at the venue with an open bar which all patrons are welcome to attend.

The World Premiere of Between the Threads opens tonight at HERE. The production began previews last weekend and runs until February 10. Between the Threads is directed by Coral Cohen who also conceived the piece, and features original music by Violinist Zoe Aqua. The limited run features an all-female-identified cast who helped develop the piece.
