A variety of musical traditions will be on display when America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival Music Mountain welcomes celebrated pianist Evans Haile hosting a musical cocktail party, filled with devilish wit, humor, glittering piano virtuosity on Saturday, July 6 (6:30PM) followed by an encore appearance by the St. Petersburg String Quartet on Sunday, July 7 (3PM) with guest artist Ilya Yakushev, piano. This weekend's offerings are a fine example of how Music Mountain brings back favorite quartets, and welcomes new performers with scheduled summer concerts through September 8th. (more...)

Canadian Opera Co. Wraps 2012-13 Season with 90% Attendance by BWW News Desk - Jun 17, 2013
The Canadian Opera Company has closed another successful opera season by recording an average attendance of 90% for 2012/2013. A total of 114,133 patrons attended the 61 performances of the company's seven mainstage productions this season in the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts: Verdi's Il Trovatore, Johann Strauss II's Die Fledermaus, Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, Mozart's La clemenza di Tito, Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Richard Strauss's Salome and Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites. Sarasota Opera Appoints Stacy Ridenour as Director of Development by BWW News Desk - May 31, 2013
Sarasota Opera's Executive Director Richard Russell has announced that the company has appointed Stacy Ridenour as its new Director of Development in an executive search process guided by Arts Consulting Group. As Director of Development, Ms. Ridenour will supervise a department working toward an annual fundraising goal of $2.75 million and creating a funding strategy to support the company's future plans.
