Barrington Stage to Kick Off FINN’S CABARET With Joe Iconis, 5/25 & 26

The Village Gate's Old-Fashioned Piano Party will play its last hurrah on Sunday, May 20, 9PM at The Gallery at le Poisson Rouge. The musical theatre themed open-mic night, created by Kevin Michael Murphy with music direction by Caleb Hoyer, has been delighting New York nightlife every Sunday night since October 2010. Over that time notable guests have included Kate Shindle, Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk, Adam Gown, Jason Michael Snow, Russell Fischer, and Jay Armstrong Johnson. (more...)

Directed by Evan Mueller (Amphibian Productions’ Animals Out of Paper – “Best Of”, Fort Worth Weekly), 12th Night features a talented ensemble cast including Drama Desk nominee Jeremy Morse (Bloodsong of Love, Ars Nova) as well as original songs and music direction by Jeff Raab. Barrington Stage Purchases Pittsfield V.F.W. as Home for New Shows

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director, has purchased the Pittsfield V.F.W. at 36 Linden Street thanks to a generous gift from long-time BSC supporters Sydelle and Lee Blatt. Built in 1972 as Local V.F.W. Post 448, the 40-year-old building, which BSC has been leasing as Stage 2 since 2008, will now serve as its permanent home for new plays and musicals and an all-new cabaret space. (more...)

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas runs June 28 – July 15 and will be directed by John Simpkins, whose recent credits include three time Drama Desk nominated Bloodsong of Love (by Joe Iconis) and Jim Lantz’s play The Bus, which ran last fall at 59E59 Theatres.
