Emily's Army Releases New Album LOST AT SEVENTEEN Today by BWW News Desk - Jun 12, 2013
East Bay punk band Emily's Army have released their sophomore album Lost At Seventeen. The album was recorded in Oakland, CA and produced by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong. Lost At Seventeen focuses on the inescapable uncertainty we all feel as teenagers as best displayed in the title track 'Lost At 17' and single 'Avenue' which induce immediate nostalgia of what it feels like to have your whole life ahead of you. The album also addresses the nation's current political climate with the brash rocker 'I Am The President', in which vocalist Cole Becker proclaims 'Democrats, Republicans... Green Day Concert Now Streaming by Pat Cerasaro - Jun 10, 2013
Internationally regarded rock band Green Day has contributed some massive, thrashing tunes to the annals of Broadway byway of AMERICAN IDIOT and the punk collective sang some of those famous songs as well as many from their upcoming three-part rock opera UNO!DOS!TRE! at a live gig this weekend. Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, who wrote this rock opera's lyrics, and his punk rock band that created its unstoppably vibrant music weren't going for "comfortable." They were aiming, along with co-creator and director Michael Mayer (who picked up a Tony for his direction of Spring Awakening), to offer a musical production that breaks ground for its in-your-face punk rock approach to storytelling and its entirely unapologetic tale of sex, drugs and (punk) rock n' roll. And while there's lots of all of the above-and all very well done-there's not so much in the way of a plot with any depth. (more...)

Casting has been announced for the upcoming national tour of Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT, the explosive Broadway hit called "wonderfully raucous" and "emotionally charged" by The New York Times and "flat-out electrifying" by the Boston Globe, which will make its Jacksonville premiere at the Times-Union Center's Moran Theater on Tuesday-Wednesday, May 14th -15th for two performances only. AMERICAN IDIOT Documentary, BROADWAY IDIOT, to Play 5/4 in Berkeley by BWW News Desk - Apr 12, 2013
Broadway Idiot, a documentary about the making of Berkeley Rep's acclaimed stage version of Green Day's American Idiot, debuted to stellar reviews at last month's South by Southwest Film Festival. Now it returns to the theatre where it all began as a benefit for Berkeley Rep's education and outreach programs.
