In the midst of a winning season that will mark the network's sixth consecutive September-to-September victory fueled by an unbeatable summer of alternative programming, NBC unveils a new year-round lineup that builds on the industry's most stable schedule with top returning stars, addictive dramas and an infusion of original comedies. The new slate, which will add four first-year dramas and four freshman comedies over the course of the 2019-20 season, will carry a robust fall lineup into a powerhouse midseason filled with returning favorites and big new shows for every audience.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced the line-up today for the 2019 Free Shakespeare in the Park season, continuing a 57-year tradition of free theater in Central Park. Since 1962, over five million people have enjoyed more than 150 free productions of Shakespeare and other classical works and musicals at the Delacorte Theater. Conceived by founder Joseph Papp as a way to make great theater accessible to all, The Public's Free Shakespeare in the Park continues to be the bedrock of the Company's mission to increase access and engage the community.

NATPE, the National Association of Television Program Executives, will present the first ever “Living the Dream: A Career in Content” event in partnership with the NAACP, (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) and the NHFA (National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts). The event will be held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 21, 2019, one day before NATPE Miami 2019 commences, at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach Florida.

Gregory Nava and Linda Shaheen were elected to the LA Opera board of directors on Tuesday. The board additionally approved a resolution that affirms its longstanding commitment to cultural equity and inclusion. LA Opera, the fourth largest opera company in the nation, also announced the addition of several new leaders to its administrative staff.

On Wednesday, August 29, Councilmember Paul Koretz and the City of Los Angeles commended Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) by presenting a resolution declaring Today, September 7 as "Stand Up To Cancer Day" in the City of Los Angeles. SU2C Day is the official day of the sixth biennial SU2C telecast, which will highlight the progress being made by SU2C researchers and continue to raise awareness and funds for innovative cancer research.
