Westchester Broadway Theatre Presents GEORGE M, 6/7-7/1

GEORGE M! tells the life story of George M. Cohan, a giant of the American Musical Theater who gave us such songs asYankee Doodle Dandy, Over There, You're A Grand Old Flag, and Give My Regards to Broadway. The show follows him over a 60-year period period from the late 1880s until 1937. Beginning with his childhood in Rhode Island on the vaudeville circuit with his parents and sister as "The Four Cohans," to New York, where he starts his 25-year absolute reign of the Broadway stage. It was an event we would not have missed and BroadwayWorld has been bringing you photos and video highlights of the event throughout the week. Twenty one cast members of the original 1981 Broadway production of Stephen Sondheims Merrily We Roll Along, including leading actors Lonny Price, Ann Morrison and Jim Walton, will reunite at City Center on February 14, to attend the current Encores! production of Merrily and will join the current cast onstage for the finale. Broadway legend and Tony Award winner Elaine Stritch appeared as the Special Guest Performer for the gala, which also featured appearances from Special Guest Presenters Kathleen Chalfant, Nathan Lane and Sara Ramirez.

Staged by the world-famous New York Philharmonic, Company was recorded live from the Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center, New York in 2011 and is now screening in cinemas outside the US for the first time.

Last night, December 5, the Roundabout Theatre Company presented a one night only benefit performance of SHE LOVES ME at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. The romantic musical comedy features a book by Joe Masteroff (Cabaret), music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof). The benefit starred Gavin Creel as Steven Kodaly, Tony Award® winner Jane Krakowski as Ilona Ritter, three-time Tony nominee Kelli OHara as Amalia Balas, Josh Radnor as Georg, Peter Bartlett as Headwaiter, Tony nominee Michael McGrath as Ladislav Sipos, Tony nominee Rory OMalley as Arpad Laszlo and four-time Tony nominee Victor Garber as Mr. Maraczek. HBO's Upcoming Aaron Sorkin Series to Be Called NEWSROOM
