GEORGE M! tells the life story of George M. Cohan, a giant of the American Musical Theater who gave us such songs asYankee Doodle Dandy, Over There, You're A Grand Old Flag, and Give My Regards to Broadway. The show follows him over a 60-year period period from the late 1880s until 1937. Beginning with his childhood in Rhode Island on the vaudeville circuit with his parents and sister as "The Four Cohans," to New York, where he starts his 25-year absolute reign of the Broadway stage. 19 cast members of the original 1981 Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim's MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, including leading actors Lonny Price, Ann Morrison and Jim Walton, were reunited at New York City Center for a reception and performance of the City Center Encores! production on Tuesday, February 14. It was an event we would not have missed and BroadwayWorld has been bringing you photos and video highlights of the event throughout the week. Coming to cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 15 March 2012 is a unique production of Stephen Sondheim's Company, one with a brilliant ensemble cast that includes some of the hottest names from American stage and TV circles. Staged by the world-famous New York Philharmonic, Company was recorded live from the Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center, New York in 2011 and is now screening in cinemas outside the US for the first time.
