Speculation is running rampant in California with an announcement expected shortly for the casting of the Hollywood Bowl's summer musical - THE PRODUCERS. Earlier this week, BWW reported that Richard Kind revealed on Kevin Pollak's Chat Show that he was on board for the project. Now, our LA sources are buzzing that Broadway veteran Jesse Tyler Ferguson might play 'Leo Bloom' after recently tweeting: "I wanna be a producer". No official casting announcement has been made. The ninth season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE debuts with auditions from Dallas and New York on a two-hour premiere event airing on a special night, Thursday, May 24 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The following week, the Emmy-nominated series moves into its regular time period, with audition episodes continuing in Los Angeles Wednesday, May 30 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), in Atlanta on Wednesday, June 6 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, June 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). L.A. Theatre Works (LATW) has recorded “8,” a dramatization of the legal fight against California’s Proposition 8 written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter and American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) founding board member Dustin Lance Black, for release on audiobook and for broadcast on LATW’s nationally syndicated radio theater series. Directed by Rob Reiner and featuring an all-star cast that includes Kevin Bacon, George Clooney, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christine Lahti, Jane Lynch, Brad Pitt, Martin Sheen and John C. Reilly, “8” will air on public radio stations across the U.S. during the week of June 9. (more...)

Today Change.org and GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, launched a Mother’s Day campaign in support of Jennifer Tyrrell, a mother of four from Bridgeport, Ohio who was ousted from the Boy Scouts of America because she is gay. Celebrities including Julianne Moore, Fran Drescher and Jane Leeves today tweeted after Josh Hutcherson, Kim Wayans, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, as well as Max Adler and Grant Gustin of Glee previously showed support for Tyrrell at the GLAAD Media Awards.
