Seattle Repertory Theatre is now accepting applications from Washington high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to compete in the August Wilson Monologue Competition. Seattle Finals will be held March 2, 2011 at Seattle Rep. Participants will perform a three-minute monologue from one of August Wilson's plays. The top three winners of the Seattle Finals will receive cash prizes ($500, $250 and $100) and a trip to New York City to participate in the National Finals on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre in May 2011.

The second show in the Seattle Rep 2010-2011 season-and the first in the intimate Leo K. Theatre-is Edward Albee's Pultizer-Prize winning drama Three Tall Women, brought to life by a trio of powerhouse Northwest actresses and Seattle director Allison Narver. Of the 23 roles cast so far, 21 have been filled by Seattle performers, ranging from up-and-comers like Troy Fischnaller and Alexandra Tavares to long-time staples like Charles Leggett, Sea?n G. Griffin, Todd Jefferson Moore and Suzanne Bouchard. Additionally, five of the eight directors are local, as are many of the designers.
