BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present the 13th Annual “A Swinging Birdland Christmas” – starring vocalists Klea Blackhurst, Jim Caruso, and Billy Stritch – for six performances from Tuesday, December 20 to Sunday, December 25 at 5:30 PM.

Theatre West will present 18 Minutes of Fame: A Musical Journey with Barbara Minkus, a show business memoir with songs, written by Susan Morgenstern and Barbara Minkus. The production, starring Barbara Minkus, is directed by Susan Morgenstern and produced by Matt Aaron Krinsky and Diane Baroni.

The officiate for the funeral service on Saturday will be Lewis' cousin, Reverend Jimmy Swaggart along with Ferriday's Clyde Ray Webber. There will be a live stream option for those not able to travel which will be announced soon via Lewis' Facebook page. 

This nearly lifelong musician and singer had recorded new music and performed around the world for most of his life. For 2006’s “Last Man Standing”, Lewis sang a number of rock, blues and country classics with some help from such famous admirers as Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Buddy Guy.

Memphis is the story of Huey Calhoun (loosely based on real-life 1950s disc jockey Dewey Phillips) and his mission to bring blues and soul music to a white southern audience in a VERY segregated Memphis. Huey optimistically believes that music can transcend race, and with him on his journey is aspiring singer Felicia Farrell. Registration is now open for Ballet Hispánico School of Dance's Fall adult classes in Salsa, Ballet Fitness, Hip Hop, and Flamenco. Classes are open to dancers of all levels and begin the week of October 3, 2022 at their studios in NYC.

Casting has been announced for the UK and Ireland tour of Bartlett Sher's critically acclaimed and multi award-winning production of Lerner & Loewe's much loved MY FAIR LADY, which comes to Birmingham Hippodrome from Wednesday 8 March – Sunday 26 March 2023.

Terre Blair Hamlisch joined the cast of The Nutty Professor on stage Saturday, August 6 at Ogunquit Playhouse to pay tribute to her late husband, Marvin Hamlisch, on the 10th anniversary of his passing. The Nutty Professor was the last stage musical that Marvin Hamlisch completed before the composer died.

From Thursday August 4 through Saturday  August 6, international touring funny man Tony Molesworth returns to The Royal City for a 3 day run in the Guelph Fringe Festival with his one-man comedy and banjo shtick show titled 'BANJOKER'. Local music fans will remember him as the emcee of the popular annual Guelph BanjoFest.

Lewis, who is the sister of “The Killer” himself, icon Jerry Lee Lewis, was a frequent collaborator and singing partner with Jerry Lee before going on to blaze a path of her own, releasing several solo albums as well as working with Van Morrison among many other luminaries. Accompanying Lewis on stage will be her daughter, Annie Marie Lewis.

The Nutty Professor is running through Saturday, August 6 at Ogunquit Playhouse. What did our critic think As a 5 decade long advocate for Candlelight Dinner Theatre, first as actor and then as reviewer, it is immensely gratifying to witness that not only have they survived but prospered over these years. They pay their actors and creative crew only a stipend. To a man/woman, “they do it for love”. Having been in tens of theatres over the years, no company exhibits the consistent joy and passion as do those that grace Candlelight’s stage. The packed house on opening night of SWEET CHARITY felt that vibe.of SWEET CHARITY at Candlelight Music Theatre?
