TRON: UPRISING Soundtrack Inspired by Disney XD Animated Series Set for Digital Release, 1/8

Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack for TRON: Uprising, the Disney XD animated television series inspired by the films TRON (1982) and TRON: Legacy (2010) on January 8, 2013. The TRON: Uprising soundtrack features the original score from the series composed by Joseph Trapanese and will be available in digital format and also via Amazon's Disc on Demand. In addition to the 16 tracks provided by Trapanese, TRON: Uprising soundtrack also includes remixes from 3OH!3 and J.T., Opiuo, David Hiller , and a brand new track from Hollywood Records' rising EDM star, 16-year-old Cole Plante , entitled 'Rezolution.' The Weinstein Company, Quentin Tarantino and Loma Vista Recordings previously announced the release of Quentin Tarantino'S DJANGO UNCHAINED ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK. DJANGO UNCHAINED marks the first time that Academy Award-winning and Grammy Award nominated director Quentin Tarantino has collaborated with artists to create original music for use in the film and original motion picture soundtrack. The soundtrack will be in stores and at all digital retailers on Tuesday, December 18th. Berkeley Playhouse founding Artistic Director Elizabeth McKoy helms this musical treat, based on Roald Dahl's stylish children's story about the world famous candy man, starring noted Bay Area singer/songwriter, musician, and recording artist Vernon Bush in the title role. Having composed the musical scores for some of the biggest films of the century so far, Alexandre Desplat has displayed an uncanny ability to tap into the thoughts, emotions and even the very dramatic themes inherent in properties as diverse as - just to use his most recent projects as examples - TWILIGHT: NEW MOON, HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, Roman Polanski's THE GHOST WRITER and CARNAGE, Stephen Daldry's upcoming EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE, George Clooney's THE IDES OF MARCH (another stage-to-screen adaptation like CARNAGE), Terrence Malick's THE TREE OF LIFE, as well as the main theme for MY WEEK WITH MARILYN - performed on the soundtrack by noted pianist Lang Lang. Discussing all aspects of his compositional process as well as outlining his interactions with the respective directors of each entity - his ongoing collaboration with Roman Polanski, first and foremost - Desplat and I delve into the delicate art of film composing and how he has achieved such great success and international acclaim for his incredibly impressive work on a heady list of projects in a relatively short period of time - last year's Best Picture Oscar-winner THE KING'S SPEECH included.
